Amira El-Mashad
Research Manager, J-PAL Middle East and North Africa
Amira Elmashad, is a Research Manager at J-PAL Middle East and North Africa. She works on evaluating the impact of the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity’s program to improve access to nurseries and employment services on mothers' labor market outcomes and early childhood development. She is also working on evaluating the impact of the Tech for Jobs Activity which combines technology skills training, professional development, and job matching and placement services on labor market outcomes in Jordan.
Prior to joining J-PAL in 2022, she worked as an economic analyst in Hodgson Landau Brands Makary International Consultancy firm and in the Ministry of International Cooperation in Egypt, on projects related to labour market assessments, female labor force participation in the Middle East and North Africa region, financial inclusion and credit digitalization. She also worked as Assistant Lecturer in the British University in Egypt.
Amira holds a Master’s degree in economic development from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Loughborough University in England and the British University in Egypt.
