Ivan Brant

Ivan Brant is a Training and Education Manager at J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean (J-PAL LAC), where he manages the region's education portfolio. As a member of the T&E team, he develops capacity-building initiatives in impact evaluation and evidence-informed policymaking for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. His work includes managing the regional implementation of the Alliance for Data, Evaluation and Policy Training (ADEPT), supporting the regional delivery of the Data, Economics, and Design of Policy (DEDP) program, and managing education partnerships with academic and institutional partners across the LAC region. From 2024 to 2026, Ivan served as a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL LAC, developing partnerships with governments in Brazil focused on social protection.

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2024, Ivan coordinated the expansion of full-time education for lower secondary public schools at Instituto Sonho Grande. Previously, as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), he coordinated education projects across Latin America and the Caribbean, including technical cooperation with the Pernambuco State Department of Education. Earlier in his career, he worked in the financial sector and multinational companies before transitioning to social impact in 2016.

Ivan holds a master's degree in public policy from Insper and is currently pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Business Administration at the same institution. He also holds a postgraduate specialization in educational policy and innovation from Fundação Joaquim Nabuco (Fundaj/MEC) and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He is also an alumnus of Motriz, having been a trainee of the Class of 2016.1 at Vetor Brasil.
