Improving Climate Resilience and Agricultural Productivity through Bundled Contract Farming Services

This study will estimate the impact of bundled agricultural services on the welfare of smallholder farmers in rural Egypt. It will test whether tailored credit products encourage farmers to invest in climate-smart inputs and practices, helping them adapt to climate change and produce higher-quality crops. The study will also assess the added impact of combining these credit products with market access solutions—such as contract farming and agricultural extension services—to address the need for markets that reward crop quality.

The research focuses on promoting the adoption of climate-resilient farming practices, strengthening farmers’ ability to cope with changing weather, and improving their overall welfare. The ultimate goal is to increase smallholder farmers’ incomes by supporting adaptation, improving product quality, and creating access to markets that pay for quality.
