Poonam Bali

Poonam Bali is the Associate Director of Human Resources at J-PAL Global, where she leads the HR function for the Global Office. She works closely with senior leadership and staff to develop and implement policies and programs that strengthen talent strategy, organizational capability, J-PAL's culture, and employee relations, and collaborates with J-PAL's regional offices. In this role, she also partners with MIT's School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS) to ensure consistency and effectiveness across the organization.

Poonam brings more than 16 years of experience in organizational development, talent management, and change leadership, including senior HR roles at General Electric, Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, and Carrier. She has led HR strategy for teams ranging from a few hundred to several thousand employees, guiding organizations through periods of rapid growth, restructuring, and cultural change. She is known for building practical, people-focused HR systems from the ground up, and for her ability to strengthen leadership capability, improve team effectiveness, and help organizations navigate change.

Poonam holds a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Executive Leadership from Boston College and an MBA in Human Resources Management.
