Chandra Harsha Bhamidipati is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia, where he works on the "Behavioral Science Strategies to Increase Hypertension Diagnosis and Treatment - The Better Heart Project" in Andhra Pradesh. The objective of this study is to evaluate whether targeted behavioural interventions - such as enhanced counselling and incentives, improve the likelihood of clinic-based blood pressure confirmation, treatment adherence, and overall blood pressure control.
Prior to joining J-PAL, Harsha worked as a Data and Research Analyst at Northeastern University School of Law, where he supported policy-relevant research at the intersection of the juvenile justice, education, and child welfare systems. He also led an arts-based research and community engagement project on water access in Bangalore through Stories of Water, and worked at the intersection of sports and education with Yuwa to support youth development programs in rural Jharkhand.
Harsha holds a master of arts in sustainable international development and conflict resolution from Brandeis University and a bachelor of technology in metallurgical and materials engineering from the National Institute of Technology Surathkal.
