Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Sathia Chakrapani is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia where she works on the NRLM Targeting the Ultra Poor Project in Bihar, which seeks to test the impact of targeting the most disadvantaged households with direct asset transfers and livelihood training (ultimately “graduating” them into microﬁnance programs). Prior to joining J-PAL in 2018, Sathia worked with the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the domains of Governance, Economy & Public Finance. She has worked on monitoring and evaluation of key state departments, preparation of the State Outcome Budget, the study on the Happiness Index for the state and a bench-marking study of the GSDP, Taxes and Finances of the state government.
Sathia holds an MA in development studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad and a BA (Honours) in economics from the University of Delhi.
