Research Associate, J-PAL Africa

Laura is a Research Associate at J-PAL Africa, where she works on interventions aimed at increasing access to health care. She is currently working on the Coach Mpilo project, a peer-led support model for men living with HIV. 

Laura holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and an MA (Honours) in Economics in the first class from the University of St. Andrews. Her Master's thesis investigated household-level responses to the receipt and withdrawal of access to South Africa's Child Support Grant, with a focus on utilising a natural experiment to develop a novel quantitative approach.
