Scale-up Manager, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean

Valter Gomes Neto is a Scale-up Manager at J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean, where he works to translate rigorous evidence into policy and support the scale-up of effective programs across the region. He manages partnerships and projects with governments, researchers, and other partners to advance evidence-informed policymaking.

Prior to joining J-PAL, Valter worked in public policy and social impact in Brazil. At Gerando Falcões, he managed large-scale programs addressing poverty and inequality, working with governments, communities, and private-sector partners across multiple territories. He previously worked on youth development and civic engagement at Politize! and on community development and poverty reduction at TETO Brasil.

Valter holds an MPP from the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government and a BS from the Federal University of Bahia. He was a Chevening Scholar and Lemann Fellow.
