Raunak Jha

Raunak Jha is a Senior Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia, based in Guwahati, Assam, where he works in the Energy & Environment vertical on the SMET – Smart Metering Evaluation project in Assam. His work focuses on developing a model to address the problem of consumer mapping and indexation in collaboration with Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd. (APDCL), as well as analysing large-scale retrospective data for discoms in Assam and Bihar.

Prior to this, Raunak was part of the Payments Governance Research Program (PGRP), where he worked on the Odisha High Frequency Monitoring Project in Bhubaneshwar.

Raunak holds an MSc in Economics, specialising in Environmental and Resource Economics, from TERI University, Delhi, and a BA in Economics (Honours) from St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
