Policy Manager, J-PAL Global

McKenzie Leier is a Policy Manager at J-PAL Global, where she works on the Science for Progress Initiative. Prior to joining J-PAL, McKenzie worked on the U.S. COVID-19 response with Partners in Health, focusing on supporting quarantine and isolation programs, as well as COVID-19 mitigation among migrant farmworkers. Prior to graduate school, McKenzie worked as a research assistant in gastroenterology at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she helped run an RCT on the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. McKenzie spent one year in rural Malaysia as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, and has worked with NGOs in Uganda and South Africa.

McKenzie holds a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University, and a bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology from Drake University.
