Robert Lensink is a Professor of Finance and Financial Markets at the University of Groningen, where he also serves as the Vice Dean of Research of the Faculty of Economics and Business, and Fellow of the Rudolf Agricola School for Sustainable Development. His research interests include financial inclusion, impact analyses, experimental economics, and gender studies within economics.

Robert also serves as a Professor Extraordinary University of Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa, the co-lead of the Cluster of Research Excellence in Inequalities, Poverty and Deprivation, and Fellow of the African Economic Research Consortium. He is a member of SOAS, the Centre for European Research in Microfinance, and Full member of the European Development Research Network.

Robert holds a PhD in economics from the University of Groningen.
