Policy Associate - AI, J-PAL Global

Audrey Lorvo is an AI Policy Associate at J-PAL Global, where she supports the Partnership for AI Evidence (PAIE). PAIE evaluates and scales transformative applications of AI in development programs, with the goal of maximizing the social benefits of AI and supporting poverty alleviation policies around the world.

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2025, Audrey conducted research on AI risks and risk mitigation with MIT FutureTech, examined the societal and economic implications of AI as a Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing Scholar at the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, and worked on applications of confidential computing for AI transparency through the 2025 Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) Summer Fellowship. Her previous research spans economic policy, urban planning, and data science, including contributions to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development on place-based policies. Audrey is also a member of the MIT AI Alignment group.

Audrey holds a B.S. in Computer Science, Economics, and Data Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a concentration in International Development.
