Kanika Mahajan

Kanika Mahajan is a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL South Asia, based in New Delhi, where she supports the Graduation Approach (MoRD - SAY). She supports the design and scale-up of key programmes in collaboration with state governments and NGO partners.

Prior to joining J-PAL, Kanika worked in public policy, development, and human rights. She served as a Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament, worked as a Fellow with the Department of Education, Government of Delhi, monitoring education programmes in government schools, and worked with UNHCR assessing asylum claims for refugee status. She has also supported international advocacy campaigns to end violence against children.

Kanika holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a BA (Hons) in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi.
