Senior Policy Manager, J-PAL South Asia

Anshuman Mruthunjaya is a Senior Policy Manager at J-PAL South Asia, where he works with the Scale-Ups (ASPIRE) team. In this role, he contributes to strengthening J-PAL's thought leadership on scaling evidence-based interventions, while clarifying and codifying ASPIRE's approach to scale across ongoing and new projects. As part of his portfolio, he supports the scale-up of the Graduation Approach in nationwide pilots with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).

Anshuman brings strong experience across social innovation and entrepreneurship.

He is the founder and CEO of Avagam Ventures, a consulting practice delivering evidence-informed programme design and has helped establish over ten impact organisations, served as a systems-thinking consultant, designing models and evaluation frameworks for policy advocacy. Earlier in his career, he worked with Teach For India's InnovatED incubator, supporting mid-stage social enterprises, and with UNDP's Istanbul Hub on government engagement and cross-regional policy translation.

Anshuman holds a Master of Public Policy from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, where he was a Weidenfeld-Hoffman Scholar specialising in socio-economic policy analysis, and a Bachelor of Engineering from SJCE, Mysore.
