Policy Manager, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean

Laura Pádua is a Policy Manager at J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), where she manages the organization’s engagement with government institutions in Brazil to strengthen the use of evidence in public policy.

Prior to joining J-PAL, she worked as a Project Leader at Macroplan, a strategic planning consultancy, where she managed long-term development planning and public policy evaluation projects for subnational governments, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and working directly with planning secretariats. Earlier in her career, she worked in municipal government on public planning and budgeting.

Laura holds a master’s in public policy, strategy, and development from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where her research focused on gender-responsive budgeting, and a bachelor’s in economics from the same university.
