Zahra Putri

Zahra Putri is a Research Associate at J-PAL Southeast Asia, where she works on projects related to education policy.
Prior to joining J-PAL, she was a Research Assistant at the University of Edinburgh, where she developed machine learning models to quantify geopolitical risk and examine its impact on publicly listed firms. She also has experience in market research from her time at Kantar Worldpanel, where she analyzed consumer behavior and market trends to generate insights for business-decision making. Across these roles, she has worked extensively with data to study economic behavior and outcomes in both policy and private sector contexts.
Zahra holds an MSc in Business Analytics from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Economics from Universitas Gadjah Mada. Her research interests lie in applying machine learning and quantitative methods to economic questions.
