Sandra Margarita Sandoval Cifuentes

Sandra Sandoval is a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). She collaborates on the research and systematization of early childhood curricula and programs to Guatemalan context. Sandra also works with J-PAL network researchers to propose and develop research pilots for new programs, supporting the co-design of early childhood interventions aligned with the Ministry of Education’s (MINEDUC) new model in Guatemala.

Before joining J-PAL, Sandra served as Senior ECD Advisor and Chief of Party for the Come Play with Me Program at ChildFund International. She was also Thrive Program Manager and Nutrition and Food Security Advisor at Plan International Guatemala. Sandra, a nutritionist with a master’s in food security and local development, has worked as a nutrition advisor and project Manager for USAID Health Continuous Improvement Program and IDB. She is also a professor at Universidad Galileo in Guatemala, where she teaches applied nutrition.

Sandra Sandoval es Senior Policy Associate en J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Colabora en la investigación y sistematización de currículos y programas de primera infancia para el contexto guatemalteco. Trabaja con investigadoras e investigadores de la red J-PAL para proponer y desarrollar pilotos de investigación de nuevos programas, apoyando el co-diseño de intervenciones de primera infancia alineadas con el nuevo modelo del Ministerio de Educación (MINEDUC) de Guatemala.

Antes de J-PAL, fue Senior ECD Advisor y Chief of Party del programa Come Play with Me en ChildFund International; y se desempeñó como Thrive Program Manager y Nutrition and Food Security Advisor en Plan International Guatemala. Nutricionista, con un máster en seguridad alimentaria y desarrollo local, ha sido asesora de nutrición y Project Manager para el USAID Health Continuous Improvement Program y el BID. Es profesora en la Universidad Galileo en Guatemala, donde imparte cursos de nutrición aplicada.
