Jioni Tuck is a Policy Manager at J-PAL Global, where she supports the Health sector and the Evidence for AI in Health (EVAH) initiative. As a member of the Policy and Communications group, Jioni works with governments, NGOs, academics, and others to build partnerships and advance evidence-informed policymaking.

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2026, she conducted research on malaria control in indigenous regions of the Brazilian Amazon and worked on migrant integration and global health security at USAID/Peru’s Regional Migration and Health Office. Before graduate school, she spent several years in Guatemala working for Semilla Nueva, a Guatemalan nonprofit focusing on nutrition and agriculture, where she designed and managed monitoring and evaluation systems and led nutritional impact studies. Earlier in her career, she worked with IPA in Tanzania and supported an RCT on phone ownership, mobile savings, and women’s economic empowerment.

Jioni holds an MS in global health and population from Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health supported by USAID’s Donald M. Payne International Development Fellowship, and a BA from William and Mary.
