Research& Operations Associate, J-PAL Global

Silvana Yarrington Pacchiano is an RET Operations Associate at J-PAL Global, where she supports the Education team within the Research, Education, and Training (RET) vertical. In this role, she contributes to the operations of two initiatives: the MITx MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Design of Policy (DEDP) and the MIT Master’s in DEDP. 

Prior to joining J-PAL, Silvana worked at Workspace Global, an outsourcing platform that connects global organizations with African creative talent, where she served as Revenue & Market Development Consultant (Revenue Lead). Her work focused on revenue operations, market expansion, and organizational growth strategy.

Silvana received a B.A. from Harvard University with a double concentration in Government and Economics, along with a language citation in French. Her honors thesis examined the gap between countries’ international climate pledges and their domestic emissions reductions. At Harvard, she also worked as a research assistant and Peer Advising Fellow, where she supported undergraduate mentorship. 

In her spare time, Silvana loves exploring music and dances from around the world. You'll find her in Samba, Cumbia, and Salsa classes, as well as listening to Kompa, Soukous, Bhangra, and anything with good rhythm.
