Please join us for the upcoming Global Evidence for Egypt spotlight webinar, titled “What does global evidence tell us about social assistance response to large external shocks in Egypt?," which will focus on what global evidence tells us about social assistance that responds to covariate shocks. This webinar, hosted by J-PAL MENA and UNICEF in Egypt, will take place on Monday, October 12 from 2-3:30pm EET.

This webinar is part of a four-part Global Evidence for Egypt Spotlight Series which brings together Egyptian policymakers and leading J-PAL affiliated researchers to discuss pertinent policy issues in Egypt. During these seminars, J-PAL affiliates focus on the issues from a global research perspective and offer evidence-informed recommendations for tackling these issues. Meanwhile, policymakers highlight development priorities in Egypt, helping ground the evidence in the Egyptian context and exploring possible policy solutions.

This webinar will feature representatives from the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, UNICEF in Egypt, and J-PAL affiliate William Parienté and will foster a conversation between Egypt’s policy priorities and the relevant rigorous global evidence, ultimately providing insights into how Egypt can design social assistance programs that respond to the needs of marginalized and vulnerable populations following the global pandemic.

This event is made possible with support by Allianz.
