J-PAL South Asia participated in the 8th India Water Week, held from 17–20 September 2023 in New Delhi. Organized by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India), the event convened diverse stakeholders—including policymakers, technical experts, civil society leaders, and academics—to exchange insights on improving water resource management in India.

The theme for this year’s convening was “Partnerships and Cooperation for Inclusive Water Development and Management.” In alignment with this focus, the SARWA (Solutions and Advancements through Research for Air and Water) team engaged with state-level officials, technical agencies, and implementing partners to explore opportunities for collaboration. These conversations are helping shape SARWA’s research pipeline and policy partnerships to address India’s pressing water challenges through evidence-based solutions.
