J-PAL South Asia participated in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024—Gujarat’s flagship biennial event that convenes global leaders, policymakers, and development partners to explore pathways for sustainable development and economic cooperation.

During the summit, J-PAL South Asia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the SARWA initiative (Solutions and Advancements through Research for Air and Water) in the presence of Shri Mulubhai Bera, Hon’ble Minister of Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, Government of Gujarat, and Shri Mukeshbhai Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Forest and Environment.

The SARWA booth showcased J-PAL’s ongoing work on environmental policy, including Gujarat’s pioneering Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). The event was attended by over 70 participants from government departments, regulatory agencies, and partner organizations, reinforcing cross-sectoral collaboration to advance data-driven solutions for cleaner air and water in India.
