The Impact Of Biometric Identification Technology Use On Employee Attendance And Payroll Management: Experimental Evidence From Ethiopia Public Service Sector.

This project investigates how biometric identification can improve payroll integrity and reduce absenteeism in Ethiopia’s public sector. The research aims to assess the feasibility of linking biometric attendance systems with payroll databases to enhance accuracy, transparency, and accountability in government institutions. Through consultations with officials across multiple administrative levels, the study seeks to identify key design and implementation considerations for integrating biometric tools into payroll management. Insights from this phase will guide the design of a future pilot evaluation linking biometric attendance to payroll systems.
