Thokozile Gotter
Policy Manager, J-PAL Africa
Thokozile is a Policy Manager at J-PAL Africa, based at the University of Cape Town, where she supports the office’s policy engagements in South Africa. She works closely with policymakers, NGOs, and other social policy implementers to identify strategic opportunities for evidence dissemination, research generation, and the piloting and scaling of evidence-informed interventions.
Prior to joining J-PAL, Thokozile worked as a Data Quality Analyst for the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU). In this role, she contributed to several high-profile research projects in South Africa, including the National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS), Coronavirus Rapid Mobile Survey (NIDS-CRAM), and the Land Restitution Study (LRES).
She holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Economics and Statistics and a Master’s in Economic Science, both from the University of Cape Town.
