Policy Associate - Gender, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean
Valeria Lentini has been Research and Policy Advisor at J-PAL LAC since July 2021. In 2021-2022, she supported the Gender and Economic Agency (GEA) in Central America, Mexico, and Colombia in seeking evaluation opportunities and incubating research projects; currently, she is coordinating the Capacity Building and Outreach for Gender Agency in Central America project.
Valeria holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Zaragoza, an MA in Development Economics from the University of Sussex, and a BA from the Universidad Nacional. She is currently an invited professor and researcher at the University of Costa Rica and the Institute of Research in Economic Sciences, and coordinates the tertiary education chapter of the Costa Rican State of the Education report. She has more than fifteen years of experience as a project director and analyst in research studies. Valeria has designed and coordinated qualitative and quantitative research for multiple public and private organizations, NGOs, academia, media, and international institutions mainly throughout Latin America.
