Alaka Rajeev LNU
Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Alaka Rajeev is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia where she works on monitoring, evaluation, and learning for the Every Child Counts scale-up program in India, supporting NGO-led pilots across multiple states and strengthening evidence use in foundational learning. She designs and oversees monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, manages data quality and knowledge systems, and provides technical guidance to partner organizations implementing the Every Child Counts Certificate Program.
Prior to joining J-PAL in 2026, Alaka interned at the Managing Urbanisation Unit at NITI Aayog, where she drafted a policy report on fiscal devolution and urban governance in India and worked with the Raichur District Administration to improve health and nutrition outcomes for women and children. She has also worked with Internet Freedom Foundation and Software Freedom Law Centre on digital governance and technology policy research, and conducted immersive field research in Tamil Nadu with Professional Assistance for Development Action, with findings published in the Journal of Women's & Gender Studies, University of Delhi.
Alaka holds a Master's in Public Policy from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology, Sociology, English) from CHRIST University, Bengaluru.
