Patrizio Piraino is an Associate Professor in the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. Patrizio’s main fields of interest are labor economics, education, and development. His research focuses broadly on the determinants of socioeconomic disadvantage. He has led a large cross-institutional collaborative work on “Education and Social Protection to Alleviate Poverty,” which involved a consortium of nineteen universities around the world (largely from emerging regions).
Recently, he has been involved in two randomized evaluations of programs designed to support young unemployed job seekers in South Africa, in collaboration with the Department of Labour.
