Marouchka Viola

Research Associate, J-PAL Europe

Marouchka Viola is a Research Associate at J-PAL Europe for the Innovation, Data, and Experiments in Education (IDEE) programme—an eight-year, government-funded initiative that supports the development of experimental research in education in France.

Before joining J-PAL in 2025, Marouchka worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for Environmental Economics in Montpellier, contributing to a project on youth participation in climate movements. She previously interned at the Bordeaux School of Economics, where she worked on a randomized controlled trial on corruption in Burkina Faso, and at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) Ghana on the Income Volatility Project.

Marouchka holds a master’s degree in Environmental Economics and Policy from the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE), as well as a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from the same institution.
