The Policy and Communications team of J-PAL Europe is recruiting a Communications Intern to contribute to its mission of promoting evidence-based policymaking in Europe. This internship is based at our offices at the Paris School of Economics (PSE). This is a full-time, paid internship during the 2025-2026 academic year. Start and end dates are flexible, but we ask for a six month commitment. To undertake the internship, you must be able to obtain an internship agreement (or convention de stage) from your university. Remuneration for this internship is set at 770€ gross per month for a full-time, 35-hour work week. Interns are entitled to two days of leave per month and have all French public holidays off. J-PAL Europe’s host university, the Paris School of Economics, will also reimburse 50% of your Navigo transport card costs and 54% of a Sodexo restaurant card (Ticket Restaurant).

Internship supervision and training provided:

The Communications intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of work streams within the Policy and Communications team–exposing them to the breadth of J-PAL’s communication and policy outreach work in Europe. The Communications intern will be supervised by a Senior Policy Associate and Senior Research and Policy Manager at J-PAL Europe.

By the end of the internship, the intern will have acquired a better understanding of evidence-based policymaking in Europe and the fundamentals of randomised impact evaluations from a policymaker, researcher, and beneficiary perspective, and how to communicate research to wider audiences. As a core outcome of the internship, they will have the opportunity to deepen their communication and project management skills. The intern will also have the opportunity to further their professional development and learning through J-PAL’s online education and training resources–including J-PAL’s RCT 101x course and one course from the Data, Economics, and Development Policy (DEDP) MITx Micromasters program free of charge.
