Arun Chandrasekhar is an associate professor in the Economics Department at Stanford University. His research focuses on development, social networks, and econometrics. His recent work has explored the role of social networks in ensuring the adoption of new products in developing countries, particularly in terms of how best to identify central figures in the information diffusion process. He also studies the means by which social networks can act as commitment, risk-sharing, or contract enforcement devices.
Chandrasekhar holds a PhD in Economics from MIT.
