Overview

As global climate risks intensify, governments face mounting pressure to move beyond small-scale pilots and deliver evidence-backed climate action at scale. J-PAL Air and Water Labs are joining London Climate Action Week 2026 to advance climate action through evidence-based solutions in line with this year’s theme of ‘climate cooperation in a fractured world’.

The three labs will host a panel discussion to showcase promising models from Egypt, India, and South Africa, to institutionalize and accelerate climate action across emerging markets. The session will discuss how these government innovation labs strengthen capacity to make climate policy more adaptive, scalable, and accountable.

The discussion will also feature evidence and lessons learned emerging from these research partnerships: In South Africa, with the City of Cape Town to improve access to clean water and reliable energy; In Egypt, with the Ministry of Agriculture to enhance farmers’climate resilience; In India, with the State Pollution Control Boards to tackle industrial air pollution in a cost-effective manner.

This invitation-only event will bring together leaders in government, philanthropy, and civil society from across the world. It will also provide an opportunity to build new connections, exchange ideas, and identify areas for future research.
