Sara El Sarrag
Research Associate, J-PAL Middle East and North Africa
Sara El-Sarrag is a Research Associate at J-PAL Middle East and North Africa. She works on evaluating the effect of digital marketing on the demand for products of small business owners and SME growth. She is also supporting other projects related to transportation and mobility.
Sara is interested in investigating policy responses to economic and social inequality as well as women’s social and economic empowerment in the Middle East and North Africa.
Prior to joining J- PAL in 2020, she worked as a research assistant at the American University in Cairo on an EU-funded initiative to analyze the Egyptian and Jordanian labor market conditions. Sara holds a BA in quantitative and financial economics from the American University in Cairo.
