Alicia Sasser Modestino is an associate professor at Northeastern University. Her current research focuses on labor and health economics, including changing skill requirements, youth development, healthcare, housing, and migration. Prior to joining Northeastern, Alicia was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, where she led numerous research projects on regional economic and policy issues. Alicia received her PhD in economics from Harvard University.
Alicia has served on the review boards of J-PAL's Social Policy Research Initiative and J-PAL North America's COVID Recovery and Resilience Initiative. She has also lectured at J-PAL training events.
