Isabela Salgado is a Policy Associate at J-PAL Global, where she supports the Crime, Violence, and Conflict sector. In this role, she writes policy publications and conducts policy outreach, contributing for J-PAL's mission of promoting evidence-based policy. Isabela is also a regional liaison with the Latin America and Caribbean office, working to increase J-PAL's presence in Brazil. Before becoming a Policy Associate, Isabela was a Full-time Yearlong Policy Intern at J-PAL Global, supporting the Policy Group in a range of tasks.
Prior to joining J-PAL, Isabela was a junior analyst at the Climate Policy Initiative, contributing to the development of policy evaluations on the sustainable use of energy resources in Brazil. She has also worked with Prof. Claudio Ferraz, a J-PAL affiliate, to assist with his research on the impact of institutions on local development. Isabela holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
